New Owners at Beaver Lake Campground

As of March 2020 Beaver Lake Campground has new owners. Max and Cindy Hammer the previous owners for the last 19 years have now earned their retirement and get to play.

Years ago when the Hammers purchased the campground it was in need of a lot of help. They have done an outstanding job to bring it where it is today. The last several years it was run by the Hammers’ son and family. Julian and Kachina Starr, the new owners are excited to meet returning and new guests to this wonderful Black Hills campground with its very spacious sites and great location.

The Starrs have been in the RV business for 22 years as owners of an RV resort in Gold Beach, Oregon and Durango, Colorado. They bring with them lots of warm memories of all the previous guests and lots of funny stories too! They hope to see you soon.

We are open from April 1 to November 1.

Current Situation Due to Coronavirus

Beaver Lake Campground is well aware of the precautions needed to comply with the virus mandates we are all dealing with. Our sites are very large so our RVs are practicing social distancing. We are not a parking lot with RVs a foot away from each other.

Our cleaning procedures are very stringent and we follow all the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) protocol. All staff members receive a copy so we all adhere to them for every ones safety.

If you prefer we can do curbside check ins. We will not be holding any group activities in our recreation facility or any other group gatherings until we receive notification from the health department.

South Dakota is one of the least infected states and we strive to keep it that way with stringent cleaning and disinfecting of cabins, bath houses our office and entire facility. The health and safety of our guests and staff are always our top priority at Beaver Lake Campground. Lots of space and fresh air here!
